What are different ways weather can affect a story’s plot?

By politicalwag.com | July 7, 2010

I am just wondering how weather can affect a story’s plot and what types of weather create which types of mood, setting, etc.
Thanks!

Storms give a very gloomy or fearful mood, and can really effect people i.e ruining houses (tornado) wipe out cities (hurricane).

Sun gives a happy-go-lucky mood

Rain gives an idea of bordom

These are just a few, hope it helps.
